   Whenever I try to explain to friends why the replacement of books by other means is not something to be celebrated . . this is an intangible point which is hard to get across.  You do it well.</description>

I certainly miss having more used bookshops around. But even more endangered than the bookstores are the true booksellers--it seems the clerks at most shops I visit don&#039;t know much beyond the bestseller list, and certainly wouldn&#039;t be able to make me an introduction to someone like Cyril P. Foley. You are a rare breed, Mr. McCaffrey.</description>
